 Wonders

  1. I wonder if discrimination due to gender stereotypes plays out the same way in educational institutes as it does in the corporate world, given the prevalence of women in education.
  2. I wonder how the modified rubric I made before leaving SSOM is playing out. Is it moving the institution closer to milestones? Is it reducing grade inflation?
  3. I wonder what other measures of faculty performance we can use in addition to student satisfaction that is quick, easy, and economical.
  4. I wonder why some institutions can enact institutional change while most are not able to.
  5. I wonder what the grade distribution is at medical schools that don’t use simple pass/fail.
  6. I wonder how high school administrator’s teaching background (elective/required courses) effects their staff’s feeling of being supported.
  7. I wonder what I’m supposed to learn about myself from this season of my life where I’m not working.

Wonderments 22-25

  I wonder if interventions to increase diversity in medical school faculty and administrators primarily targeting physicians?  I wonder if minority and women non-physician administrators and faculty have the same rate of promotion, leadership opportunities, and retention as physician faculty and administrators in a medical school setting? I wonder how is the experience of non-physician faculty and administrators in a medical school different from physician faculty and administrators?   I wonder how to bridge the gap between PhD, EDD, and MD in a medical school setting so that each feels valued.
