AAMC (American Academy of Medical Colleges): practitioner-focused
Membership is at the organizational
level. Schools are members allowing their students, faculty, and staff access
to resources. So this group focuses on services it offers to institutions and
services it offers to medical school students. Medical students can access test
preparation materials, information about residency match, and career information.
For institutions, there are a number of faculty development opportunities and
groups to discuss best practices.
AIR (Association for
Institutional Research): researcher focused
Individual memberships
for institutional research professionals. The focus is on program evaluation in
the higher educational setting. The focus is on data and data evaluation. AIR
has an annual conference. There are also ongoing training opportunities. The
group offers shared research opportunities, publications, job boards, etc.
